Walking to Davaar on a stormy afternoon . . .

. . . . carrying brand-new copies of our Davaar book, for Toni and for Ned.

A glorious day at Saddell . . .

. . . and an opportunity to photograph Gormley’s Grip at low tide.

A walk around the coast to Macharioch . . .

With dramatic skies over Sanda, and Sheep Island

A sunset view of Jura from Machrihanish

I look forward to your blog posts and often view Tom’s pictures on my PC big screen. You work as a great team.
How Beautiful!
The photos are just stunning!
I received my Davaar book and was really interested to read your essay on the caves and MacKinnon’s painting. Thank you for all the detail, what a story and to think we can still see it! Pictures are truly gorgeous as are the patterns. Thank you both.
Thank you, Susan!
Love the photos, it’s such a beautiful place with those wide empty beaches. I really like the photo of ‘Grip’ it looks amazing standing there at the waters edge, there is something about his work that is so effective near water, much like ‘Another Place’ on Crosby Beach.
Dear Kate and Tom, together you are a formidable team. I appreciate all your collaborative creative efforts. Kate, you are certainly one of my favourite designers. I enjoy each and every pattern, post and essay. Tom, your photography! You are single handedly responsible for me falling in love with Scotland (I’m Canadian). So much so that you inspired my husband and I to visit your fair country. I have a particular love of your Labrador Retriever posts as we are Lab owners as well. They have touched my heart and given me a good laugh, they are always written with such good humour. Thank you for the beautiful post, allowing us a virtual visit to a spectacular place. All the best from Canada ❤️
I echo all of your comments about Tom and Kate – the quality of their work and the beautiful way they showcase Scotland. We do not live with Labradors but we have so far made two trips to Scotland from Canada after enjoying their creations.
The descriptions of your activities, along with the expanse of sky and sea in the photos, had me unconsciously breathing deeper. I remind myself to look up and out when I’m walking to work, for the same reason. The expanse of my view makes my lungs expand too. Thank you.
What a beautiful and stunning environment. You really live in a beautiful surrounding. Several years ago we spent a holiday in Scotland but we never had the time to go north. Maybe some day. Thanks Tom, for the beautiful photos – they really take your breath away.
